I used to start January with 47 different goals, get overwhelmed by March, and give up by summer. Sound familiar?

The problem wasn't ambition — it was trying to do everything at once. Traditional goal-setting tells you to dream big and then hustle. Nobody mentions the part where your brain melts trying to juggle a dozen "priorities."

The Quarterly Reset That Changed Everything

Instead of planning the whole year, I plan in 13-week sprints. Each quarter gets one major theme and 2-3 supporting outcomes. That's it.

The secret isn't doing more. It's doing fewer things completely.

How It Works in Practice

  1. Pick ONE theme — What would make this quarter a success?
  2. Set 2-3 outcomes — Concrete deliverables, not vague aspirations
  3. Weekly check-ins — 10-minute review: am I on track?
  4. Quarterly review — What worked? What didn't? Adjust for next quarter.
